This is an emerging field in which innovators and investors across sectors are mobilizing resources and creating global partnerships to address the social and environmental determinants of health. She will lead a discussion on distinguishing factors that differentiate this new field of practice from traditional public service, and from other forms of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs, investors, academics, non-profit leaders, and business leaders from multiple sectors are converging to catalyze change related to socioeconomic and environmental pathways to health. Some advance preparation (short pre-work readings) will be required. The evening will close with a networking reception with appetizers and beverages. Space is limited; registration required. Dinner and refreshments. There is no charge to attend.

Join us at our fourth annual mixer during the Yale Alumni Association Assembly and Yale Alumni Fund Convocation program. This event is co-sponsored by the Afro-American Cultural Center, Yale Latino Alumni Network, and Yale Alumni Association. All alumni and students are invited to attend and stay as long as you can.

Alumni, share your personal career journey and strategies with Yale College and G&P Schools students. Talk about what you had learned when you were at Yale and what you had wished you had known. Pass it on to these incredible students who will share their current Yale experiences with you. Find so many things to share in common.

Students, meet alumni who are excited to meet you! Hear about their experiences and "real world" insights on how to leverage Yale's numerous resources as you explore internships and job opportunities. Learn from their personal journeys, challenges they faced and strategies which helped them succeed. Hear from many alumni who share having been in many of your shoes as first-gen low-income students at Yale. You will know that alumni are here to support you as we are all members of the Yale family.

Small table discussion includes diverse career fields: Arts, business, communications, consulting, education, entrepreneurship, environment, finance, law and social justice, medicine and public health, nonprofits, public service, science, and technology. Conversations will include transition issues from school to work, work and family concerns, financial management and post-graduate options ... and so much more!

Opportunity to Support Unexpected Needs for Yale Students: Many alumni have asked how they can give financial support for student emergencies, interview travel expenses, non-profit summer internships, professional clothing, food when dining halls are closed, and other needs not covered by tuition and room & board financial aid. Working in partnership of the Office of Development, 1stGenYale created this special fund - Designation #36430 – First Generation Low-Income Students Support. To make a gift, go to Support Unexpected Needs for Yale Students. Thank you for your support!

Share your common bonds as Yalies and make meaningful friendships, too! Invite your friends and ask them to sign up on the link. We're excited to see you on Friday, November 22!
