The Yale Alumni Educators (YAEd) is a community of Yale alumni who teach across the US and the world. This event is an informal opportunity to meet fellow teachers on Zoom. We'll do introductions, share our ideas and experiences, and play some short games that you can bring back to your classroom spaces. The life sciences industry is creating breakthrough biotech companies addressing society’s greatest unmet medical needs. These companies translate scientific innovation to make life-altering drugs in order to transform healthcare.  Join us for a conversation with life sciences investors, Levi Smith ('19 PhD Cell Biology) and Santiago Salazar ('18 PhD Genetics), along with a biotech startup company builder, Gregg Keaney ('05 PhD Chemistry), as they discuss their career paths.

“Internship and Job Search 101” will provide undergraduate and graduate students with an opportunity to learn how to approach the search for internships and full-time jobs during an economic slowdown. This program is co-sponsored by the Yale Office of Career Strategy.

Topics will include:
• Overview of fundamentals for exploring your professional interests, and strategies for the job and internship search.

• Steps students can take to increase their chances for success in an environment where there may be fewer jobs and internships.

• How Yale’s Office of Career Strategies can assist you in your search for internships and fulltime jobs.

• Mistakes to avoid that can serve as a barrier to obtaining an internship.
