THIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE

Please join Team YARI (Yale Alumni of Rhode Island) and members of the public at the shoreline cleanup at Conimicut Point Beach, Warwick, organized by Save The Bay. We'll do our part to keep trash, particularly plastics, out of the ocean and keep the beach naturally beautiful. Families are welcome (ages 8+ recommended).

Save The Bay will provide disposable gloves, trash bags and hand sanitizer. You may want to bring your own work gloves, trash grabber, or bucket. Wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather. We go rain or shine, unless it's stormy.

You will need to sign a waiver - you can either print it at home and bring it with you, or sign it when you arrive. Please arrive by 9:50 AM so we can identify each other among the other volunteers. Look for the "Y" flag at the far end of the parking lot. Call Brian if you can't find Team YARI (you'll get the number when you register).

Additional event details are on Save the Bay's website, but do not register directly with Save the Bay because we are pre-registered as a team.

Looking forward to seeing you on the beach!

Join the Yale Club of Silicon Valley for a virtual safari in Northern Kenya to help study and conserve reticulated giraffe.

Across Africa, all giraffe populations have declined by about 40% and the reticulated giraffe by 70%. The main drivers behind the decline appear to be habitat loss and fragmentation, land degradation, and poaching. This project is coordinated by the San Diego Zoo wildlife alliance .

Using the Zooniverse platform, we will classify images from motion activated trail cameras. After you register, we will send you a Zooniverse link. You can then identify animals on the website.
