In preparation for the flower themed 5K event, we want to make sure PATH400 is appropriately adorned to go with the theme! We invite students to come out & decorate PATH400 with chalk art flowers. We'll provide the chalk - you provide the art!

Join fellow Yalies and other members of the community to install free smoke alarms and share safety information in this at-risk community.  As volunteers, we first will get an orientation and training by the Red Cross over a continental breakfast. Then we will work in small groups--under the aegis of the Red Cross--to visit homes, install smoke alarms, and provide home fire safety education to residents. 

In any case we will be providing a valuable service to the community and helping to save lives--while volunteering alongside other Yalies and community members. Families welcome! Children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Did you know home fires claim seven lives every day--or thousands of lives per year?  Having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half!

On Ann Arbor's Yale Day of Service, join our efforts to protect and restore Ann Arbor's natural areas. You will be joining other community members to remove non-native invasive plants. To register, please follow these steps:

Register for your workday! If you are prompted for a join code it is: yaleservice

When you arrive at the workday, you should see a big City of Ann Arbor vehicle and Yale alumna Tiffany Ng '05 wearing a white Yale Day of Service baseball hat. Please check in with the NAP workday leader. Once everyone is checked in, you will hear a brief orientation and schedule for the day.

Volunteers are given free use of a kayak to paddle the New River, the oldest river in North America, to clean up trash. The volunteer who brings back the most trash gets free fly fishing lessons. Whoever brings back the coolest piece of trash gets a free Rivergirl T-shirt!

Join fellow Yale alumni for the tenth year at Angel Island State Park. Located in the middle of San Francisco Bay, Angel Island Immigration Station was the first stop for hundreds of thousands of immigrants crossing the Pacific Ocean between 1910 and 1940. It is an important part of American and Asian American history, with incomparable vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the Bay. Visit the website for more information about the history of this site through which thousands of Asian and other immigrants came to this country (please do not send questions to them).

Volunteers will be working landscape to preserve this important historical site for future generations. Volunteers will also get a free guided tour of the site by Grant Din ‘79, volunteer with AISP and Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation. Physical work will include beautification activities at the site (weeding, raking, cleaning, collecting trash). If you have favorite tools, please bring them, though the park has a large supply. Volunteers should be prepared to walk approximately 20 minutes (up incline) to work site.

Project is limited to a maximum of 25 volunteers. This popular project fills up fast! Ferry passage and park entrance is free, but space is limited so early registration is highly encouraged. Please only sign up if you fully intend to participate! If you need to leave before the 5pm park boat, you may need to pay your own way.

We expect that there will be a waiting list, so please notify us by phone or email as early as possible if (after registration) you are unable to attend. This would be greatly appreciated.

Recommended parking is in the lot between Chase Bank and CVS and is $5 exact change (enter 1599 Tiburon Blvd. for the CVS address in your GPS). It's about a ten minute walk to the ferry dock, so plan accordingly.

Please bring your lunch and water. The weather can start off foggy and end up sunny and warm, so wear layers.

Every Saturday morning, the NH Food Bank brings food to the JFK Coliseum in Manchester to distribute directly to hungry families. Individual and group volunteers help set up tables, give out the food, carry items for those who are unable to, and clean up the area when done. Years ago, the Yale Club of NH volunteered at this informal event and we're excited to return this year!

Tulip Time is an annual festival dedicated to Pella's Dutch Heritage. Volunteers will help with crowd control by wrangling the lines outside the Jaarlsma Bakery, directing cars, and helping audience members who need assistance to their seats during performances.

This event is rain or shine.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver helps kids succeed in school, develop good character and citizenship, and live healthy lives at 20 neighborhood clubs through low or no-cost opportunities to participate in fun and educationally enriching activities after school, during the school day, and all summer long. This event will take place at the Owens location.

• Volunteers will help run State Education Day, where all 20 Clubs in Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver compete against one another for a handful of awards while completing fun activities designed to engage club members’ mastery of reading, geography, science, and math.
• Volunteers should arrive by 9:45am as the day begins at 10am and runs until 2pm. A light lunch will be provided to volunteers. Volunteers may also leave after lunch after 12:30pm, rather than stay for the full day.
• Children aged 15 and up are welcome to volunteer alongside their parent or legal guardian. There are 15 volunteer spots available. For more information on the activities, please contact Hasib Nasirullah '11.

Volunteers are requested to complete a waiver online before the event.

Parking is permitted on Kentucky Ave across from the Club or in our parking lot on the west end of the Club (westbound before hitting Lowell or just after Lowell if eastbound on Kentucky Ave).

Spruce up Prospect Park on this national day of service by taking part in a variety of Prospect Park Alliance improvements, from painting benches, edging pathways, cleaning litter and more.

I Love My Park Day, held the first Saturday in May, attracts thousands of volunteers from across the state to participate in cleanup, improvement, and beautification events at New York State parks, historic sites and public lands.

Join Prospect Park Alliance as we support this effort in Brooklyn’s Backyard.
