The project may include trail maintenance or invasive species removal, depending on the needs at that point in the season. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes. Bring a water bottle, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and work gloves, if able. Families members are invited; children aged 5 and older are welcome. After your registration is received, you will be sent parking instructions and a liability waiver.       Join us for the Yale University Art Gallery's new family program, Getting StARTed, which offers engaging activities to guide families in looking at art together.

      The 30-minute sessions focus on a range of works from the collection and build in time for participants to try the month's activity on their own. No registration required.

      This program is free and open to the public. We welcome Yale graduate students and their families to experience the Gallery and to meet with members of the Graduate School Alumni Association (GSAA) Board, either before or after the sessions. Come learn how the GSAA Board interacts with and supports Yale graduate students and alumni.

The ReStore is a home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials, and more. Proceeds from the ReStore support Habitat for Humanity Chicago (www.habitatchicago.org), which builds affordable homes in the West Pullman and Greater Grand Crossing neighborhoods and supports individuals and families as they transition to homeownership. Our projects may include merchandise staging and arranging, warehouse organizing, cleaning, or donation assembly. Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian must fill out a youth waiver for volunteers under age 18. The group size is limited to 10 people.       Add to Calendar 2024-05-11T12:00:00 2024-05-11T15:00:00 America/New_York Yale Day of Service: MA, Boston - Helping Out at Bikes Not Bombs Come join other Yalies at Bikes Not Bombs - a non-profit that uses bicycles as a vehicle for social change to achieve economic mobility for Black and other marginalized people in Boston and the Global South. We have a fun and meaningful afternoon planned. We will be helping "strip" bikes (i.e., taking all the parts off a bike), sorting parts, "flattening" bikes (i.e., turning the handle bars sideways for shipping), and cleaning the warehouse. All skill-levels and ages are welcome! Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear closed-toed footwear and try to wear clothes that can get dirty.
